Can I use the cup during sex, sports, or everyday activities?
Restroom
Yes. You can use the restroom as usual. Because the cup sits in the vagina while urine comes from the urethra, the cup does not need to be removed. Unlike tampons, which have strings that can absorb fluids, a menstrual cup will not interfere with urination.
Sports
Yes. The cup is ideal for active lifestyles. It can hold up to three times as much as a tampon, and its flexible material makes it comfortable once properly positioned. You can swim, run, do yoga, or enjoy other activities, all while getting 8–12 hours of protection during your period.
It's also very unlikely that the blood collected in the cup will flow back into your uterus, even if you're upside down. You may have noticed the relatively thick consistency of the flow, so it doesn't slosh around inside you; it simply stays in the cup. So you can lie down or do a handstand without a worry.
Sex
No. The cup should be removed before penetrative sex. Note: The cup is not a method of contraception and does not protect against STIs.
