How does period underwear work?
Period underwear is a practical and reusable alternative to pads and tampons. They look and feel like your favorite everyday underwear but feature built-in layers that absorb and encapsulate menstrual flow while keeping you dry and odor-free.
Why choose period underwear?
- High Absorbency: Holds the equivalent of up to 2–4 tampons' worth (depending on the style).
- Leak-Proof: Designed with a breathable, waterproof barrier for total peace of mind.
- Eco-Friendly: Made in Portugal and made to last multiple years.
- Breathable Comfort: Soft materials that move with your body without the "bulk" of a pad.
Getting Started
Before you use your period underwear for the first time, make sure to wash them. This helps to activate the absorbent layers and ensures they're clean and ready for use.
How to Use
- Day Use: Slip on your AllMatters period underwear just like regular underwear in the morning.
- Absorbency: Depending on the absorbency, our underwear is designed to absorb up to 2-4 tampons' worth, ensuring you stay dry throughout the day.
- Changing: Depending on your flow, you may want to change into a fresh pair after 6-8 hours, or you can wear them all day and switch at night.
- Night Use: Feel free to wear them overnight for leak-free sleep.
Washing & Care
- Rinse Well: After use, rinse in cold water until the water runs clear.
- Machine Wash: Machine wash cold (30°) or by hand with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
- Dry: Hang dry or tumble dry on low. Avoid high heat as it can affect absorbency and the elasticity of the material.
Tips & Tricks
- Travel-Friendly: Period underwear is great for on-the-go. Keep an extra pair in your bag.
- Mix & Match: You can use them alone or with other period products for added protection.
- Urinary incontinence: Our period underwear is also designed to absorb light bladder leaks.
- Swimming: We don't recommend swimming in your period underwear as they do not provide protection in water.
How many pairs do I need?
We generally recommend having 3–7 pairs in your collection. This allows you to rotate through them comfortably during your cycle, depending on your flow and how often you prefer to do laundry.
